We're so excited to announce our newest class, and it's one we know you've been waiting for. 🧵

Beginner Sewing 101 is a hands-on, two-hour class designed for true beginners - no experience, no supplies, no problem. All materials are provided, and by the end of the evening, you'll have made your very own pillowcase from scratch.

Along the way, you'll learn how to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, sew a straight stitch, and pivot a corner. Real skills, real practice, and a finished project you actually made yourself.

Class sizes are small and beginner-friendly, so you'll get the hands-on guidance you need, not just a demo from across the room.

And once you complete this class, you'll be ready to move on to Beginner Sewing 102, where the projects (and the skills) keep growing.

Two sessions available this summer. Pick the date that works for you:
🗓️ June 30 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM PDT
🗓️ July 14 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM PDT

📍 AGSEM, Vista CA
đź’˛ From $75 | All materials included

One month from now, these grounds will sound very different. đźšś

Steam whistles. Tractor engines. Sawmills cutting lumber. Blacksmith hammers ringing through the air.

Our annual June Antique Tractor Show is getting closer, and preparations are already underway at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum.

For four days across two weekends, history won’t just sit on display, but be fully alive and in motion.

You’ll have the rare chance to:
🌾 Ride wagon tours across the museum grounds
đźšś See antique and vintage machines operating live
🪵 Watch the sawmill and Gristmill in action
🍞 Experience real wood stove baking
🧶 Visit working weaving & spinning demonstrations
⚒️ Watch blacksmiths work glowing steel
🎶 Enjoy live music, food, crafts & family activities

And for many visitors, the best part isn’t even the tractors.

It’s watching kids experience these traditions for the first time… seeing their faces light up when they realize these machines still run, these crafts still exist, and these skills still matter.

This is one of AGSEM’s biggest events of the year for a reason.

The kind of skills you never forget are the ones you actually do.

At the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, education doesn’t stay in a notebook.

It stays in your hands.

Every class and workshop is built around the same idea: you learn best when you’re part of the process. That’s why our instructors don’t just demonstrate, but they also guide you through every step, every mistake, and every breakthrough.

Whether it’s shaping metal at the forge, weaving fiber on a loom, or learning how early machines actually worked, you’re not standing on the sidelines. You’re in it.

And as we look ahead, that same spirit of hands-on learning is exactly what will fill the grounds during the June Antique Tractor Shows (June 20-21 & 27-28, 2026), where machines, makers, and history all come together in motion.

There’s always something new to learn when you’re willing to try.

This isn’t a museum you just look at.

There are places where history is behind glass… and then there’s AGSEM.

At the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, history is still moving, turning, spinning, and working exactly as it did generations ago.

Across 55 acres, you don’t just observe the past… you walk through it. Engines still run. Tools are still used. And every corner holds a story of early American life, preserved not as memory, but as living, breathing experience.

It’s slow. It’s hands-on. It’s real in a way modern life rarely is.

And as we move closer to the June Antique Tractor Shows (June 20-21 & 27-28, 2026), this is your invitation to experience the museum in its everyday form before the grounds come alive in an even bigger way.

Come see where history never stopped working.
