Greetings!

Maybe you've heard or not but thought we'd make a formal announcement, at the end of the year Lincoln Arts Project will be closing. There are two weeks left to see our shows Standard Variation and American Layman, we will be open this Saturday (October 25) 12-4 and the following weekend we will be participating in Waltham Open Studios, Saturday & Sunday 12-6. We will also be doing a closing on Saturday Night (Nov 1st) from 6-9. https://www.facebook.com/events/327683547405412/

After that, we will be doing one more show! In collaboration with the Pre-Vinylite Society we will be doing a showcard show, a large group show featuring artists and sign painters from around the country. Please join us for our final reception on Saturday November 8, 7-10 PM. https://www.facebook.com/events/736704826395597/

It'll be almost 4 years when we wrap things up, and we've had the pleasure of doing 40 shows, working with over 500 artists (those big group shows from the beginning sure add up), 17 curators, and doing 2 (giant) murals outside the gallery. What started as a pop-up show in a temporary space, evolved into something a little more permanent -- we wanted to start a space that would help keep us and our peers here in Boston, and have a place to show art, experiment, and feel encouraged in a city that sometimes seems like it doesn't want anyone to stick around. Thank you for all the support over the past few years, we've got to meet a lot of great people and have found a community of artists worth staying for and being a part of. We're excited to watch the Boston art community continue to evolve and are looking forward to the next project!

Thanks!

thanks to the Boston Globe for the nice write up on "A Woman's Arms"

Exhibits featuring art exclusively by women rarely bill themselves as “women’s shows” anymore. The last big “women’s show” I saw was “Global Feminisms,” organized by the Brooklyn Museum, and presented at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College in 2007, a finger-wagging exhibition that doted on victims...
