Cabinet of Ancient Wonders Explore the past, the way they used to! Come see us at the Watch City Steampunk Festival on May 13th!

The Boston University Department of Archaeology brings you a traveling museum styled on the museums and cabinets of curiosities of the the 18th, 19th, and Early 20th centuries. See, and interact with replicas and authentic artifacts from across the globe, and learn about the history of the "backwards-looking curiosity" from experienced archaeologists in period dress.

From the Board of Directors:

Fondest Greetings,

After long months scouring ancient volumes for clues, we return to the field on Saturday, May 13th, for the Watch City Steampunk Festival in lovely Waltham. Find our camp on Waltham Common, and join us for a glimpse into the past. We are proud also to announce the unveiling of new finds from Ancient Egypt, including the mummy of Nanefer-ka-ptah, long considered lost to the world, and recovered from the sands of time for your edification and enlightenment (see even page for info, space limited).

We kindly request that all willing persons who can lift trowel or brush report to the Cabinet of Ancient Wonders Watch City excavation, and assist us in uncovering the not-so-distant days of Watch City gone by. Caution: you may get dirt on your waistcoat.

Not only will we be setting up the Expedition Camp with dig site and Cabinet of curiosities, but we will be unrolling a (fake) mummy fr your enlightenment and edification!
