ARRIVAL DAY - Settle in, reconnect with fellow Maule owners and friends, and enjoy an easy evening before the weekend activities begin.

6:00 p.m.: EARLY ARRIVAL GATHERING FOR DINNER AT MAULE AIR, INC. HANGAR 3 - An informal chance to meet up, trade flying stories, and ease into the weekend.

Friday, September 18, 2026

9:00 a.m.: FACTORY TOUR - See where Maule aircraft take shape and get a behind-the-scenes look at the people, craftsmanship, and process of building our planes.

10:00 a.m.: GARMIN PRESENTS THE NEW AXIS FLIGHT DISPLAY, followed by Q&A for pilots and owners interested in the latest GARMIN Avionics.

12:00 p.m.: LUNCH AVAILABLE AT MAULE AIR, INC. HANGAR 3 - Take a midday break, visit with friends, and fuel up for the afternoon.

2:30 p.m.: MAULE FLIGHT, INC. TOUR - Explore this six-decade Maule specialist repair-and-rebuild shop, chat with Kit Wilkes, and enjoy some of their famous boiled peanuts.

4:00 p.m.: AFTERNOON BREAK - Relax at the hangar, visit with fellow attendees, or get ready for the evening cookout and music.

6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: COOKOUT AT MAULE AIR, INC. HANGAR 3 - Gather for good food, relaxed conversation, and an easy start to the evening’s music and dancing.

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: MUSIC AND DANCING AT THE SEAPLANE OPRY HOUSE (MAULE LAKE HANGAR) - Enjoy an evening of live music, dancing, and hangar-side fun with friends, locals, and fellow pilots.

7:30 p.m. - Till: CAMPSITE BONFIRE - Gather around the fire, swap flying stories, and wind down the evening together - weather permitting.

7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.: FLY-IN BREAKFAST AT MAULE AIR, INC. HANGAR 3, KMUL - Start the day with breakfast, coffee, and conversation before the morning flight activities begin.

8:30 a.m.: PRE-FLIGHT BRIEFING for Flight Demonstrations (STOL / Flour Drop) – All pilots participating in the demonstrations are required to attend.

9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.: FLIGHT DEMOS: Short Take-off and Landing and Flour Drop - Watch Maule pilots put precision, control, and backcountry capability on display.

11:00 a.m.: S.T.E.A.M. FLIGHT LABS FOR KIDS AGES 5 TO 105 - Hands-on aviation learning designed to spark curiosity about flying, science, and how aircraft work.

12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: LUNCH AT MAULE AIR, INC. HANGAR 3 - Enjoy food trucks on site and take time to relax, refuel, and visit with fellow attendees.

1 p.m.: FACTORY TOUR - See where Maule aircraft take shape and get a behind-the-scenes look at the people, craftsmanship, and process behind each MAULE plane.

2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: AWARDS PRESENTATIONS FOR FLIGHT DEMONSTRATIONS. Trophies will be awarded to the winners in each Flight Demonstration category.

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER - LAWRENCE WEST - Maule test pilot and instructor shares stories from his years at Maule and abroad, including the aircraft he has flown and the adventures those flights made possible.

5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: FLY-IN DINNER AT MAULE AIR, INC. HANGAR 3 - Enjoy an evening meal catered by Joe Kem BBQ while catching up with friends and fellow flyers.

6:30 p.m. - Till: CAMPSITE BONFIRE - Gather around the fire, swap flying stories, and wind down the evening together - weather permitting.

8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.: CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST - Start departure day with coffee, light breakfast, and a chance to visit before heading home.

DEPARTURE DAY - No events scheduled. Safe travels, and thank you for being part of the 2026 Maule and All Homecoming Fly-In.

10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: CHURCH SERVICE available at Lifespring Community Church, located near KMUL- All are welcome to attend before heading home.

✈️ THE STORY BEHIND THE PLAQUE: Eugene Jacques Bullard

What could take a young man from Columbus, Georgia, to the cockpit of a military aircraft over France during World War I?

For Eugene Jacques Bullard, the answer was an extraordinary journey of determination, courage and service.

After leaving Georgia as a young man and eventually making his way to Europe, Bullard volunteered to fight for France when World War I began. He served in the infantry, was wounded at Verdun and received the Croix de Guerre for bravery.

Bullard later turned his attention toward the skies.

After completing flight training in France, he flew combat missions in 1917 and became the first Black military pilot to fly in combat and the only Black combat pilot of World War I.

His accomplishments are even more remarkable considering that racial barriers prevented him from flying for the United States during the war. It would take decades for his achievements to receive the recognition they deserved in his home country. In 1994—33 years after his death—the United States Air Force posthumously commissioned Bullard as a second lieutenant.

But in Georgia, his place in aviation history had already been formally recognized.

When the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame inducted its very first class in 1989, Eugene Jacques Bullard was one of only seven people selected.

Today, his remarkable journey from Columbus to the skies over France remains part of Georgia's aviation legacy.

Every plaque has a story. This is Eugene Bullard's.

Since 1989, the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame has honored the men and women whose contributions have helped shape aviation and aerospace in Georgia and beyond.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more of their stories, exploring moments from Georgia’s rich aviation history, revisiting past Enshrinement Ceremonies, and celebrating the people whose legacies continue to inspire future generations.

This hero has a special place in my heart as he was one of the first I witnessed inducted by the George Aviation Hall of Fame. A true patriot; that we may be worthy.

Ensign George H. Gay, the sole surviving aviator from Torpedo Squadron 8’s attack at the Battle of Midway, is shown recovering at the Naval Hospital at Pearl Harbor later in 1942, where he was treated after being rescued following his hours in the water during the battle.
