A little tribute to two great aviators

NOTAM: This is the neighbor’s fence on the North end of the runway. Once again this limits the runway length to 2300’. The fence has been wrapped with orange snow fence for visibility. Please keep in mind it is 9’ tall so fly safe! We will have a shuttle available if you need to fly into KYNG. Please call the airport/museum if you have any questions! Thanks!

We are in the process of changing the name of the airfield to Griffin-Sloas to honor the late Bill Griffin and his work to preserve aviation history for the generations to come!

Sloas NOTAM: If anyone is planning on flying in for Wings N Wheels, the yellow circle is a 9’ tall by 60’ wide chain link fence constructed by our neighbors. This limits the length of the strip to 2300’. Everyone planning on flying in is encouraged to shoot some approaches on Saturday if you are not familiar with the airport. We may reach capacity with cars and planes, so we will have overflow car parking down the road and shuttles. Overflow aircraft parking will be up at KYNG and we will also have shuttles for that as well. In the red area, we encourage overnight camping for AIRCRAFT ONLY for those who want to get in early, there is a bathroom and shower available for pilots and passengers. CTAF frequency is 122.75 contact KYNG App. At 133.95 inbound to Sloas.
