Breaking the Bubble Breaking the Bubble help Hoyas get outside the Hilltop by planning and subsidizing the costs for trips to different D.C. neighborhoods.

Sammy Magnuson (COL 2012) and Kitt Wolfenden (SFS 2012) founded BTB in response to their own experiences with the Georgetown bubble. They found that although they loved exploring D.C., finding the time, energy, money and information needed to get off campus could become a significant challenge, and so they created a student group to make the process easier. Re-Imagine Georgetown grant, Sammy and Kitt recruited an awesome group of student coordinators and chairpersons, bringing the total club leadership to 12 students. Years after Sammy and Kitt started the club, Breaking the Bubble is still going strong, taking students to places like the National Zoo, the Renwick, the National Building Museum, and many more. Of course, each trip is also accompanied with great food from restaurants like Teaism, Zorba's, Roti, and other delicious vendors. We hope to continue the great tradition and expose more students to DC's vibrant neighborhoods.

Some of the events Breaking the Bubble organized last semester including lunch at Buredo and Teaism, trip to the Zoo to see Bao Bao the panda, visit of the Architecture Museum and the National Museum of Women in the Arts and walk around the Embassy Row followed by a dinner at Zorba's Cafe!
