DACOR is a membership-based community of U.S foreign affairs professionals with a 200-year-old clubhouse a block from the White House in the President's Neighborhood. Welcome to DACOR, a private organization for foreign affairs professionals since 1952. DACOR fosters frank dialog about current foreign policy matters in the trusted environment of the DACOR Bacon House. Within this stunning historic

mansion, DACOR provides networking opportunities to advance the professional and social needs of members. Through a range of programs, DACOR sustains and supports community amongst those who have dedicated their lives to foreign service through governmental and non-governmental work, research and academia, trade and development, and communications and media. DACOR’s philanthropic arm is the DACOR Bacon House Foundation, which serves as the steward of the historic mansion located at 1801 F Street, NW. Built in 1825 just two blocks from the White House, the 24-room home has served as an intellectual salon for our nation’s leaders since its earliest days. In addition, the Foundation operates a museum that provides a window into the world of diplomacy for the general public and annually awards $250,000 in scholarships and fellowships to students pursuing careers in diplomacy, development and international relations. DACOR welcomes into membership professionals in the field of foreign affairs and accepts donations from those wishing to support the preservation and educational work of the Foundation.

Join DACOR for our Annual Memorial Day Observance as we come together to honor and remember members of the Foreign Service community who have passed. This year we will be joined by special musical guest Rayshun LaMarr, Semi-Finalist on NBC’s The Voice.

The ceremony will take place in person at the DACOR sections of Rock Creek Cemetery and will be followed by a reception at the Cemetery’s St. Paul’s Parish Hall.

What a beautiful Mother’s Day celebration at DACOR Bacon House 🌸☀️
Under perfect spring weather and surrounded by blooming gardens, families and friends gathered for a warm and joyful Mother’s Day Brunch filled with laughter, conversation, and meaningful moments together. It was wonderful to see generations reconnecting and creating memories in such a welcoming atmosphere.

Join DACOR for “Magical American Impressions: Duo Musicaux ~ Piano Magic for Four Hands~,” a special musical celebration for America’s 250th.

Experience an imaginative afternoon of dazzling four-hand piano performances featuring works by Mozart, Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Amy Beach, and Paul Dukas. From elegant classical sonatas to vibrant American melodies and the unforgettable excitement of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” this program promises artistry, energy, and charm.

Performed by Duo Musicaux — Dr. Hanchien Lee and Dr. Wenyin Chan — two acclaimed pianists and educators who first met at the Curtis Institute of Music, this concert brings together exceptional musicianship and heartfelt storytelling through music.

Tea and sherry will be served during intermission, and children under 18 attend free with an accompanying adult.

This May, DACOR and DACOR Bacon House Foundation proudly celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
We honor the generations of AANHPI leaders, diplomats, public servants, military members, educators, artists, and changemakers whose contributions have helped shape the United States and strengthen communities around the world.

At DACOR, we recognize the importance of cultural exchange, global understanding, and inclusive leadership in diplomacy and international affairs. We are grateful for the many AANHPI voices and perspectives that continue to enrich our Foreign Affairs community and American public life.

Our 2026 Foreign Affairs Day celebration was a great success!
DACOR, the Foreign Service Association, and the Senior Living Foundation came together on May 1st for a meaningful day of connection, remembrance, and celebration within the U.S. Department of State retiree community.
From the AFSA Memorial Ceremony to the Foreign Service Cup presentation and luncheon, the day brought colleagues and friends together to honor service and lasting impact.
DACOR was especially honored to recognize Ambassador George Edward Moose as this year’s Foreign Service Cup recipient for his decades of distinguished diplomatic service, including leadership roles across Africa, the United Nations, and the United States Institute of Peace.
