Based in Cairo and Washington, Syra Arts is an organisation dedicated to promoting contemporary Middle Eastern and Egyptian art in the United States. Founded by long-term art collectors, Sylvia Ragheb and Randa Fahmy, the company's mission is to raise awareness around Egypt's flourishing arts scene and to help Egyptian artists penetrate the US art market. Syra Arts represents some of Egypt's leading contemporary painters and sculptors, many of whom already enjoy successful international careers. In its choice of artists, Syra Arts strives to give a glimpse of the depth and diversity of contemporary art from Egypt, featuring work by artists of different generations, in a range of artistic mediums.
