Salta Bloss Salta Bloss is a family oriented multi-venue celebration and exhibition of the arts. The words Salta and Bloss derived from the meaning upward and growth.

On Saturday March 28th coinciding with the annual celebration of DC’s Cherry Blossom Festival, a different kind of celebration will be happening in the city’s H street North East neighborhood of the Atlas District. A newly blossoming neighborhood that essentially sat dormant after the 1968 Martin Luther King, Jr. riots until revitalized eight years ago by a series of “Do It Yourself” business oper

ators with an artistic sensibility and hammer in hand. As a result, handfuls of artistic and theme driven establishments popped up and served as the foundation and launching pad for a neighborhood now laden with luxury condominiums and the revitalization of the cities Trolley car system planned to launch this March. Simultaneously, the neighborhood will experience its inaugural year of the family oriented multi-venue celebration and exhibition of the arts entitled, Salta Bloss. Both key words for an event focused on creativity in an area where its community and businesses have been labeled one of the fastest growing and most successful neighborhoods in the city’s history. Using the areas historic backdrop, 6 of the neighborhoods venues will feature handpicked artists and artist collectives from both DC and NYC to exhibit a combination of visual art, installations and live painting throughout the entire day. Each venue will also include family oriented events from 4pm-9pm with live musicians, DJ’s and members of the culinary arts showcasing signature food and drink items served by guest celebrity chefs and mixologists. As the Atlas District continues to dazzle us with its enduring spirit, ingenuity and artistic flare, the Salta Bloss event will highlight and blossom for years to come.
