Coming Soon to Callaway Plantation… 🇺🇸

We are excited to announce the creation of a Children’s Discovery Room as part of the 250th Celebration of American Independence!

This new space is being designed to give young visitors a hands-on connection to history, featuring:
• Children’s worksheets they can take home
• Copies of the Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence
• Stories of historical figures from Wilkes County
• The history and heroes of Kettle Creek

Rooted in the spirit of homeschool learning and local heritage, this room will offer a fun and engaging way for children to connect with the story of independence right here in Georgia’s backcountry.

This project is just getting underway, and there’s more to come—we invite you to stop by and watch it take shape!

📍 Visitor Information
The Discovery Room is open to paying visitors during regular hours:
Thursday–Saturday | 10 AM – 4 PM

We welcome public and homeschool groups! To schedule a group tour on Thursday or Friday, please email [email protected]

Group Rates:

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who shared your wonderful photos from our 247th Anniversary Celebration — our very first Battle of Kettle Creek Living History Weekend.

What a special milestone for our community! Seeing the weekend through your photos has meant so much to us. You captured the laughter, the learning, the fellowship, and the spirit of remembrance that made this first event so meaningful.

Because of you, these moments are preserved and the story of Kettle Creek continues to be shared and celebrated. We are truly grateful for your support, your encouragement, and the love you show for our history.

Here’s to honoring the past together — and to many more living history weekends to come.
