Bradford House The Bradford House Museum is open for a guided tour year round by appointment. The House is open May through December for guided or self guided tours.

Built in 1788 by David Bradford, infamous leader of the Whiskey Rebellion, it is Washington County's first 18th Century home. We also offer Haunted History Walks, Candlelight Tours and other special events. We are part of the Whiskey Rebellion Festival each year that is held in downtown Washington and we host a Whiskey Rebellion Dinner as a fundraising event.

📣 Juneteenth Closure Notice

In observance of Juneteenth, Bradford House will be closed on Friday, June 19, as we honor and reflect on this important day in American history.

We will reopen on Saturday, June 20, from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM and look forward to welcoming visitors back then.

Join WPSU for a free screening of The Whiskey Rebellion, a documentary film celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States by writer, director, and producer Kristian Berg.

Never before told on public television, the story of the Whiskey Rebellion serves as an example of the tension between citizen rights and federal authority and highlights the importance of establishing a strong national government while respecting individual liberties. The issues raised reflect the polarization of our country today as WPSU explores this important and relevant chapter in Pennsylvania history.

The Bradford House Historical Association is proud to host this screening. Several board members, docents, and volunteers are featured in the film.
