ALERT! To all farm families and local photographers ..
We, at the WATTSBURG Museum are always looking to expand our archives. We would be grateful to those willing to help us update our files. We are looking for old black and white and new ( recent) color photos of local farms and farm life. Photos can be of buildings and fields or family/ farm hands doing farm work.
Feel free to take photos of your old photos as well. We would love to see aerial photos of local farms. If you know any of the previous owners, that would be great too. We are "missing" photos from the 1950s thru the present because many have been discarded after grandparents passed away.
Please include, with photos (if possible): farm location, farm name, owners name, photographer name, dates even if approximate decade, and names of those in photos.
Photos needed from the following Townships...Venango, Amity, Union, Greene, Greenfield, and Wayne.
Photos can be posted to the museum post or private messaged to Tina Canfield.
The photos posted above are some we have. Thought you might enjoy them.

Wattsburg Area Historical Society meeting TOMORROW! June 14th at the museum, starting at 6pm. Our meetings are open to the public who want to become members, as well as to our current members.

June 2026: To all Wattsburg are residents and donors of the WAHS Museum,
There is a rumor going around the area saying that we are selling artifact donations out of the museum. This is NOT TRUE!
In April & May we had an auction and yard sale where people donated items specifically to sell to raise funds for the museum. Some items were not sold at the time so they are being stored at the museum. To continue to raise funds, I have put some items on Facebook Marketplace. People have picked up items at the museum because that is where they are being stored.
We have NEVER and would NEVER sell items donated for display or research. Things donated that are not presently on display are still here in storage until we do an exhibit that the items are suited for use. We do change/add to our displays annually. We value your donations that enhance our museum far more than just money. Consider our motto..." Preserving our past, enriching our future. Where local stories find their voice."
Please help us squash these rumors by not spreading them. Thank you!

Our next meeting is on June 14th at 6pm.

The WATTSBURG Area Historical Society is now offering a one-year membership for the annual sum of only $10. With your membership you will receive 4 to 6 postcards with historical photos of our area mailed to your home throughout the year. You also have the opportunity to attend meetings (not required) if interested in being involved.
To purchase the membership, send a $10 check to 14438 Main Street, P.O. Box 95, Wattsburg, Pa 16442. Be sure to include where the postcards are to be sent. (These make great gifts for seniors.)
To visit the museum call Tina at 814-392-7163. Meetings are April through September on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 6pm at the museum.
Just a note: the museum is in need of donations, both financial (our pipes froze and need repaired) and physical (Wattsburg area history items).
