A man named John Nash mathematically proved (and won the Nobel Prize in Economics for this) that people, when they collaborate instead of compete, are actually better off in the long run. The Mammoth Hunter and Forest Whales are in the midst of one of the coolest collaborative efforts in the history of mammoth/whale collaborations. :) 🦣 🐋 See link in comments.

The last few weeks have been really busy, but in the best way possible. Collaborating with friends, visiting schools, meeting new people, bringing joy and education to just about everywhere I go. It's National Fossil Day! I am opting to show something that has nothing to do with whales.

This is "Ivan," a Tyrannosaurus rex I had rented in 2017 for a former non-profit in the Wausau area. For three months, this dinosaur stared me down every day and threatened to eat me.
Ivan was about 40%(ish) complete. Favorite part: I tracked down the guy who excavated him. He was more than happy to share his story, share some photos, and talk about his reactions to the rattlesnakes he would find hiding under the tarps.
Around this time, I also reached out to a paleontologist named Steve Brusatte, a bestselling author. The guy graciously helped me out with a low-budget documentary I made about this T. rex specimen.

Despite this being a massive dinosaur, Clara the whale is bigger.

When the booth in the corner has a 360 degree video platform, and you have an orca skull, one must absolutely give themself permission to act like a total dork and have fun.
This was at the AWSA elementary principal convention this past Thursday.
I also got to hang out with The Mammoth Hunter for the day, which is always entertaining.

Collaboration: when two or more organizations work together toward something bigger. Today in Crandon, the Forest County Potawatomi tribe opened their doors and invited their community and neighboring schools to come meet a whale.

And it was amazing. We joined forces to teach kids something wonderful about this planet and the remarkable animals that share it with us.

Days like this are why I do this.
