Storytelling is one of the oldest and purest art forms, so we are honored to partner with Object Homewares in bringing this event to the community. Please join us on Tuesday, November 17, at 7:00 pm in WMOCA ballroom.

Nothing beats a good story and it’s no surprise humans have been sharing stories for thousand of years. It’s how we pass along knowledge, share our experiences, and come together as a community to learn from one another. This event has been something we’ve wanted to do for quite some time, and it feels like we need it now more than ever.

Gather Round is an evening of open-mic story telling where anyone can prepare a 6 to 8 minute true story and put their name in the hat for a chance to share their human experience. The story theme for our initial event is “Firsts”, and we can’t wait to hear about your first loves, first jobs, first heartbreaks, and all the other firsts that have shaped our personal stories.

We hope you’ll grab some friends & family and join us November 17th at 7pm at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art for a wonderful evening of storytelling. More info in the link in our bio.

Tonight, our Annual National Juried Exhibition opens in the galleries. The opening reception begins at 6:00 pm, and we hope you'll join us.

When the galleries quiet down, the evening moves upstairs. Art After Hours runs from 8:00 to 10:00 pm in the Grand Ballroom, with live music by Aaron Scharmer, light hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar. It's an easy, unhurried way to meet the artists and one another. Participating artists, your first drink is on us.

Admission to the museum has always been free. A $10 suggested donation at Art After Hours helps us keep evenings like this one going.
