1,000 VISITORS!!! YOU DID IT, BREMER COUNTY!

What started as a goal has turned into an incredible milestone, and it's all because of YOU!

We have officially welcomed 1,000 visitors to the Bremer County Historical Society Museum in 2026!

We are beyond excited and incredibly grateful for the support our community has shown us this season! From families exploring together to visitors researching their roots, and all the young historians we've had the joy of meeting, this has been a season to remember!

And we're not done yet!

Our museum will remain open for walk-in tours through October 31! Remember, even after our regular season ends, we are always happy to welcome visitors by appointment.

There are still more opportunities to explore local history this October! Join us for our Historical Cemetery Walks on October 21 and 22, or experience the museum in a whole new light during our Candlelight Tours on October 23 and 30, complete with candlelight, music, and a little history after dark!

We had a very special visitor at the museum today!

Laura Ingalls Wilder stepped out of the pages of history to take local Girl Scouts on a journey through her life and adventures!

The girls experienced a little pioneer life themselves, practicing writing with ink, creating wax seals, and playing old-fashioned marble games before heading over to the Ira and Asenath Sturdevant House Museumfor more fun!

What a wonderful morning of bringing history to life and inspiring the next generation of historians!

This has been such a fun fundraiser over the last couple of years, helping cover operational costs for the museum. This year, it's getting more magical with Santa AND Mrs. Claus coming to the museum. Free-will donation photos with Santa will be available December 10 from 6-8 for Bremer County Historical Society's Holiday Program!

Finishing up my Fall Minis from Ankeny and getting started on something exciting for December!

Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special stop at the studio as we work on promotions for an upcoming Bremer County Historical Society fundraiser!

The Bremer County Historical Society and Ira Sturdervant House are hosting their 2nd annual Harlington Cemetery Night Walk on October 21 and 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This years theme is
