About the Bremer County Historical Society: The BCHS aims to preserve and promote interest in, and knowledge of, the links between Bremer County's past, its present and the future. The society is all about tracing the trail of people, events and artifacts that brought us--literally and figuratively--to where we are today.

Thank You, Community!
We want to take a moment to thank our community for continuing to support our efforts to preserve and share local history.
As a nonprofit organization, we work hard to stretch every dollar as far as possible so we can accomplish as much as we can for our museum and our community. Sometimes, that means looking for gently used items to help us get by.
Recently, we reached out looking for a used keyboard for the museum. Instead of a used one, a generous community member reached out and offered to purchase a NEW keyboard from our Amazon Wish List!
We are incredibly grateful for this unexpected act of kindness and generosity. Your support, whether through donations, volunteering, attending our programs, or simply sharing what we do, makes a difference.

Sharing memories and reminiscing about the days when school was held in a one-room schoolhouse. A time when students of all ages learned together, neighbors knew one another, and the schoolhouse was at the heart of the community.
