Ellis County Museum, Inc. Where Ellis County History Lives On! The Ellis County Museum is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Ellis County.

Filled with exhibits and artifacts from Ellis County history, the Ellis County Museum is housed in a stunning historic building built in 1889 where we host educational, social, and public events to bring to life. Our museum is family friendly and free to all guests (donations are appreciated), and also serves at the visitors center in historic downtown Waxahachie with a gift shop and local history

bookstore. The Ellis County Museum is the founder and host of the annual Gingerbread Trail Tour of Homes, featuring multiple spectacular historic homes in Waxahachie, TX (the county seat of Ellis County) along with several exciting events including the Midlothian Car Show and the Antiques & Boutiques Market in Singleton Plaza. The annual Gingerbread Trail events happen yearly on the first weekend of June. For 56 years, this event has been a community favorite & we're honored to continue the tradition. Join us June 6-7th for tours through SIX beautiful, historic homes and several iconic, local landmarks. 🏠

πŸ‘» Returning this year, we will also have two paranormal tours taking place this weekend! Uncover haunted history and experience a full ghost tour of a former masonic lodge landmark right here in downtown Waxahachie! Those tours will be Saturday night from 6-8 PM and again from 9-11 PM!
