We had a question about a tricycle company that supposedly existed in Wayne in the 40s called Dual Remote Control Co./ Ducon. They made electrical equipment and some tricycles but they were located on Warren road in Garden City, yet advertised on their badge that they were in Wayne. Does anyone have any info or have one of these trikes in their garage?

Mildred Hanchett (1907-1985) - Born Mildred Baxter on a rural family farm in Romulus, the young Mildred would go to school at River Rouge, Romulus and Wayne for a time. She attended business school in Detroit before marrying Donald Hanchett of Wayne. He worked for the Wayne County Road Comission. After moving to Wayne in the late 20s she began a lifelong interest in Wayne history. She began reading articles and talking to some of the older folks in town. Eventually she founded the Wayne Historical Society in 1956, and pushed the city to create the Historical Museum in around 1963. She was the first museum director and saw the collection grow from just a few objects to thousands and helped save many of Waynes earliest pieces. She passed away on December 8, 1985, just before the new addition to the museum was completed in 1986. Did any of you know Mildred?
