Then & Now at 15 West Main Street with Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc.

In 1909, Edgar & W.E. Washabaugh Ci**rs had a shop in the downstairs of the Hotel Werner. Part of the hotel was demolished for the construction of the First National Bank in 1921 (Now M&T Bank). The Washabaugh store was located in the part of the hotel that is now the addition to the bank where the Mainstreet Waynesboro office is located.

The Genealogy Club is meeting Wednesday June 3 from 1:00-3:00 at the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Library. The theme this month is “How My Ancestors Got Here.” We want to hear if you have information (or guesses) about their journey to the new homeland. We will also be finalizing the schedule for the library’s genealogy workshop set for July 9 from 3:00 to 4:30.
