Join us on Saturday, May 23rd at 11 a.m. for a presentation on excerpts of Jeff Stefanik's new history of Webster Lake, Beside Blue Waters. Recently published by the Samuel Slater Experience, Stefanik will speak about the early European settlers around the lake in the 1600s, followed by a short Q&A and book signing. Copies of his book will be available for purchase at the event.

All moms will get free admission to the Samuel Slater Experience today! Use code MOMFREE online or in the box office today only.

This Mother's Day we have a very special family reunion on view. On the left is a portrait of three of Samuel Slater's grandchildren which lives on display in the mill section of the museum. This year the children are joined by their mother, Lydia Robinson Slater. Lydia's portrait was donated to us by the late James and Ida Collier, Slater cousins and history lovers. These and other Slater family heirlooms will be displayed together in a brand new exhibit space currently under renovation.

The Experience is open at 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays. Last entry is at 3 p.m.

We were so honored to screen the brand-new film documentary developed by Gladys E. Kelly Public Library, Nichols College, Karen Warinsky and the Webster Senior Center: Threaded Together: Mill Work and Life in Webster, MA. It has been so rewarding to see this project unfold from the first planning meeting to the finished product. If you haven't had a chance to see the film yet, there are still opportunities at the Library on May 5 and the Senior Center on May 21. Special shout-out to two of our superstar experience guides who participated in the project, Robyn and Trish. We love you!
