The Spirit of '76 Museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. Come in and look around...we have 3 floors and a mezzanine full of Southern Lorain County history and more! No admission fee. Donations are appreciated, but not required.

Thank you for attending the Spirit of '76 Museum's opening this past Saturday. There was good food next door at the Fyfe & Drum. The museum had music, drawings, and various historical figures who came to life with the help of local talented people, in addition to our new displays. Stop in some weekend to see the museum. We're open most Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3:30p.m.

Stop in on Saturday to see Col. McDermott. We've got a set-up that should jog some memories, get him talking about the Great War and the brave boys, especially Lorain County boys who fought. Did you know that Col. MacDermott helped form the American Legion? He was one of the founders of the American Legion in Ohio. April 4th from 4-7pm.

Archibald Willard is coming to our opening on Saturday, April 4th! He has promised to make time to sketch while he's visiting - could it be you he sketches?

I've heard that the Fyfe & Drum restaurant next door is serving a special on Saturday in addition to their everyday fare. I'll see if I can get a sneak peek at the menu and let you know.

Saturday is shaping up to be a huge success with important people coming back to visit - don't be left out. Stop by the Museum between 4-7pm and make sure you plan your meal at the Fyfe & Drum!

April 4th from 4-7pm - Opening Day 2026. Please stop in to see our Museum. We have had several former Wellingtonians rsvp. Ambassador Myron T. Herrick, Col. James McDermott promised to be there. We're told Willard is coming prepared to paint - won't that be nice. We're still waiting on several more responses. It is shaping up to be a spectacular opening. Don't miss it, help us celebrate America's 250th.

Dennis Michaels donated this showcase and hundreds of Revolutionary War soldiers representing several battle scenes. Thank you to Dennis and John Perry for setting this display up. You can see it on Saturday, April 4th!
