It's winter and it's getting cold. The local DPW has worked extra hard this weekend to get the boards and glass up for the town's well used outdoor rink. And of course, right after getting everything put together, a massive storm dumps snow everywhere.

Meanwhile across the tracks the fall cranberry harvest is in full flow, while closer to shore, beachgoers enjoy the sunshine with a dip off the dunes of Sandy Neck.

Let's just leave it that our layout has a rather irregular flow of seasons...

When it comes to making a meaningful difference about how the MBTA serves the citizens of the Commonwealth, the CCMRRCAM would like to point out that in the years since Ryan Coholan became the Chief Operating Officer we have seen expansion of the Cape Flyer, revitalization of old routes, and now the celebration of the railroading history with the introduction of newly painted heritage F40 locomotive in the Boston & Maine Minuteman scheme.

Simply put, Ryan Coholan has been the lead innovator, manager and cheerleader for rail service in the Commonwealth. Countless organizations (including the CCMRRCAM) have benefited from his knowledge, advice and willingness to listen. His tireless work to ensure Massachusetts's rail service is on a path of constant improvement has exposed the benefits of a well-run mass transit system to citizens all over our state.

Thank you Ryan, for leading the way to an improved, relevant and modern MBTA as well as supporting the many rail-oriented groups who so often come into your orbit. You are the epitome of what a dedicated public servant is all about and we are so very fortunate to have you as COO of the MBTA!
