In 1915, Civil War veterans honored their fallen brothers on Memorial Day. 7 years later, WWI veterans gathered at Union Cemetery in West Bend to do the same. Today, we extend our deepest appreciation to the men and women, and their families, who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you for joining us in honoring their bravery and remembering their stories.

If these FLOORS could talk... they'd share the sneakiest secrets about the earliest design of this room! 🤫 👀

🔍 Look closely at the recently uncovered 1868 Frisby House Parlor flooring, and you'll find faint outlining that mimics the ghosts of different decorative elements in the parlor.

These imprints indicate there may have been a different - perhaps more elevated - version of a hearth and mantel piece on the parlor fireplace, and also a thicker baseboard. 🪵✨

What else have we discovered about the Frisby-Wagner House from the floors?

So, what makes the design of the 1886 Jailhouse distinctive? 👉 Entering the front door, you’ll see the sheriff’s residence – a nine-room home. Visually divided by a door, the second half of the building is a cell block.

The 1886 Jailhouse is only ONE OF TWO in the Great Lakes region with a fully intact cell block. Built from riveted iron lattices, all eight cells still function and lock.
