Jalal Shallal’s passion for anthropology and his desire to leave a lasting legacy have been beautifully carried forward by his wife, Nawal Shallal. ❤️

After Jalal’s passing, she has made a generous contribution to the Chaldean Cultural Center, home to the world’s first and only Chaldean Museum. Her support plays a vital role in preserving Chaldean heritage and history for future generations. We are deeply grateful for the vision and generosity of Jalal, Nawal, and their remarkable family. 🙏

"The Origin and Spread of Christianity in Malabar (Kerala): Scenario prior to the European advent (1498 AD)" by Ben James Maliakkal. 📜

It explores the long-standing maritime trade between ancient Mesopotamia and India. Did you know Chaldean traders had strong connections with India’s western coast? As early as 3000 BC, they traded teak wood, gold, spices, pearls, and muslin (Indian-made cloth) via sea routes. Evidence includes teak wood from India found in Ur (Mugheir) and records of goods imported by the "Ships of Ur."

The Chaldean community, with roots tracing back to ancient Mesopotamia, has a rich history that spans thousands of years.

This area, often referred to as “the cradle of civilization,” is where significant advancements in writing, mathematics, and urban planning first emerged.

Understanding this legacy is crucial for appreciating the challenges faced by the Chaldean community today, especially in the context of the recent displacement of peoples and the importance of their representative diasporas.

Originally posted by Chaldean Heritage Foundation, this document was published in 1617 in Rome, but it was written earlier because Pietro Strozzi, who authored this document, was born in 1510 and passed away in 1558.

Date: 1617 (Rome)- The Chaldean Nation, once renowned for its wisdom, wealth, and empire, is today oppressed in miserable servitude, subjected to the Turks and Persians.

It has been assimilated into various nations and inhabits Mesopotamia, scattered across neighboring regions, extending to India and the Far East.

It professes the Christian faith, but is afflicted by grave errors, due to which the Chaldeans are also divided among themselves.

Some of them are called Jacobites, while others are Nestorians. The Jacobites are named after Jacob, a disciple of Dioscorus.

The Nestorians follow the Nestorian heresy, and both parties have their own Patriarch.

Rhonda Byrne, in her book, The Secret, reminds us: "The ancient Babylonians and their great prosperity have been well documented by scholars. They are also known for creating the Seven Wonders of the World, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Through their understanding and application of the laws of the Universe, they became one of the wealthiest races in history."
