Just wanted to remind you that our Coffee get togethers at the Historical Society continue in May--Thursdays 9 to 11:30--stop by any time for coffee, treats, and conversation. We have been having so much fun! Somehow everything gets discussed from auras to uranium glass, and all kinds of other topics. It's always more fun when you join us!

For our Facebook friends who are discussing a train ride to Kenyon in Kindergarten, I think this little "blurb" from the June 2, 1955 Enterprise tells the story. The class of '68 had Kindergarten with Mrs. Hildebrand, too, at the Baptist Church, but we didn't get to go on that train ride. Sigh . . . (Sorry the print is blurry)

Once again, the West Concord Historical Society needs your help. West Concord's train depot, built in 1911 (the top picture), was moved to Dodge Center likely in the 1990's. We've seen it there (bottom picture) on private property near the water tower and railroad tracks.

Does anyone know more precisely when it was moved, who moved it, and why? Thanks for any info you may have.

LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WEST CONCORD'S RAILROAD HISTORY!

A real railroad buff, Tony Bianchi, of Red Wing visited the Museum on Friday to see what information we had about the days of the railroad in West Concord. Tony has both You Tube and Facebook presence under the title Mr. B's Hiawathaland Rails.

If you have lots to say about West Concord's railroad history, please let us know and we'll connect you with Tony. He wants to come back to WC and meet with you. Thank you!
