Joseloff Gallery

Joseloff Gallery The Hartford Art School Galleries include the Joseloff Gallery, Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery, the Kaman Print Study Center, and Art On Campus.

HAS Galleries feature artists from a broad range of disciplines from photography to painting and ceramics. The Joseloff Gallery presents contemporary art exhibitions in all media showcasing the work of internationally and nationally recognized artists and emerging artists. Art enthusiasts from the greater Hartford region engage with artists, their work, and other visitors through the wide range of

programs that the Joseloff Gallery provides throughout the year. Recent projects include the groundbreaking Post Dec: Beyond Pattern and Decoration, featuring painters who established the Pattern and Decoration movement in the 1970s along with a younger generation of artists who explore similar aesthetic issues on contemporary terms; Beyond Green: Toward A Sustainable Art, with ironic and often outrageous installations related to solutions for a better environment. Other recent notable shows were Keith Sonnier, a pioneer in neon sculpture, and large-scale structures by visionary architect Samuel Mockbee and the Rural Studio. The Hartford Art School Faculty Exhibition is a chance to view recent faculty work. The Koopman Chair visiting artists program features artist-educators who work with students on semester-long projects, in addition to exhibiting their latest projects at the Joseloff Gallery. All students in any major are encouraged to enter the Alexander A. Goldfarb Student Exhibition, a juried exhibition that awards two $1,000 purchase prizes. The capstone Senior Shows exhibit the final body of work of Hartford Art School graduating seniors.
