It’s Christmas night, 1776. The wind is howling off the Delaware River, the kind of cold that cuts straight through bone. Most people are huddled by a fire… but not the man at the center of our story.
George Washington is climbing into a boat.
His army is exhausted. Half‑starved. Wrapped in rags. Many of them don’t even have shoes—just bloody footprints in the snow. The Revolution is hanging by a thread. And yet, in this moment when any reasonable commander would retreat, Washington chooses the impossible.
He chooses to attack.
That decision—made in darkness, in silence, in the teeth of a winter storm—will ignite two stunning victories: Trenton and Princeton.
