Hotchkiss Mobiles was founded by Joel Hotchkiss in Oakland, CA in 1981. His wife, Sandra joined in running the business in 1983. Over a 45 year span Joel has created a wide range of mobile designs for residential homes and gardens and commercial spaces. They are sold in Galleries and Museum Stores nationwide including the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. The Mobile Studio relocated to West Stockbridge, M

A in 1993 in the Berkshire Hills where all our mobiles are currently created and on display. The Gallery features a unique selection of American Crafts including jewelry, ceramics, glass and the mobiles designed by Joel Hotchkiss. This coming year will mark 50 years since I started creating mobiles in my Newbury Street apartment in Boston in 1976 before heading to Oakland, CA in 1978 and finally relocating here with Sandra, Shaina and Larisa in 1993 to West Stockbridge and each day has always felt like the first day.
