Listen to an intrview Members of the BAAC (Black Ancestors Awareness Campaign) aired on May 24th on The Foolkiller Folk show on KKFI 90.1. Bob Sukiel spoke with Phyllis Becker, and Angela Hagenbach provided details about the upcoming 6th Annual Juneteenth Heritage Jubilee.

It's finally here! Come meet Sherry this Sunday, May 31st!

Sherry Dicus has been passionately quilting for over 35 years, embracing all techniques, methods, and styles. Her work has been exhibited at diverse venues, including the Johnson County Museum, nursing homes, schools, United Women's annual teas, and Martin Luther King programs. One of her quilts is featured in Barbara Brackman's book, Butternut and Blue. A resident of Johnson County, Sherry currently serves as the president of the Mo-Kan Heart Quilt Guild in Kansas City, Missouri.
Reservations are not required for this event. Enter at the lower level by the Dinah Robinson Courtyard- Weston United Methodist Church, 533 Main St. Weston, MO.

This morning, Boy Scout Troop 249 replaced the flag that hangs in front of the Weston Historical Museum β€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The Boy Scout program began in Weston in 1918 as Troop #1, before becoming Troop 249 in 1940. Small town traditions like this matter β€” generations continuing to care for the places and history that came before them.
