A remembrance for Memorial Day: New stories about Westport Revolutionary Soldiers are surfacing and will be shared at our exhibition opening this June 27 at Handy House. This collective history of 75 individuals associated with Westport includes stories of privateers, minutemen, Bunker Hill veterans, freed slaves, and fighting Quakers, as well as a surprising age range for soldiers, from a young 15-year-old Richard Gifford to a senior 63-year-old Benjamin Brownell.
