One of the oldest buildings in our state!

This white building with green trim stands in downtown White Pigeon near the southern Michigan border. It is one of the oldest buildings in the state. the Treaty of Chicago was signed in 1821 by the tribes in southwestern Michigan turning over their lands to the federal government. In 1831 the government opened this office in White Pigeon, one of the largest towns in the western Michigan Territory. Between 1831 and 1834, land was sold from this office at $1.25 per acre. About 260,000 acres of were deeded including the land that includes, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Battle Creek.

Well, the White Sox will have to try again Thursday to wrap up the series.

The game starts at 5pm and we open at 5pm, so you can root them on here from the first pitch.

This week's special is a fantastic beef stew. The daytime temps haven't crashed yet, but you'll be glad you filled your belly after the sun goes down. Enjoy!

🌭🧀 Our dogs have a request! 🧀🌭

We’re running low on two very important shelter delicacies: hot dogs and cheese!

They may not seem like much, but hot dogs and cheese cubes make fantastic high-value treats for our dogs. They’re especially helpful when we’re working with nervous or scared dogs who need a little extra encouragement to feel safe, build trust, or try something new. ❤️

If you’d like to help stock our treat supply, we could use:
🐾 Hot dogs
🐾 Cheese or pre-cut cheese cubes
We just ask that all donations be unopened and unexpired.

Donations can be dropped off anytime we’re open. Even one package helps us make a shelter dog’s day a little easier (and a lot tastier).
