Some dogs walk into a shelter wagging their tails like they’ve never had a bad day in their life.
Roz isn’t one of those dogs.

Roz came to us carrying the weight of a hard past, and it shows at first. She’s shy. Quiet. Unsure. The kind of dog who watches from the corner, wondering if people are truly kind or if disappointment is coming again. And after 2 months in the shelter with almost no interest, it’s getting harder watching such a loving soul be overlooked. Get her away from the noise and chaos, and she melts into the sweetest cuddle bug imaginable. She leans into you like she’s been waiting her whole life for someone safe to hold onto.
Roz doesn’t need a perfect home. She just needs someone willing to give her a chance.
A quiet home. Gentle words. A patient hand. Someone who understands and is willing to love her no matter what.

BEST IN SHOW at the Rider Middle School Art Show went to Emma Cooper, 7th grade. This was a beautiful color wheel with many intricate illustrations. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons plus Honorable Mentions were also awarded. Congratulations! A lot of parents, grands and friends came out for the reception.

RIDER MIDDLE SCHOOL Art Exhibit Reception & Awards is this Saturday from 2-4pm at the WFAA Gallery. Awards will be given in each grade. Come out and support these young artists. There’s some really fantastic art you need to see. (8th and Ohio, Holt Hotel, downtown)

Larry McMurtry Literary Center's George Getschow, Executive Director, will be speaking about the LMLC, their collection of art and how it ties in with their future plans. Our guest speaker this week will be the incredible, energized Marcus McGee! Come and join us for a fun and entertaining lunch. Kemp Art Center, 12 noon.
Marcus "DJ Maniac" McGee is a Wichita Falls native known for his work as a DJ and as the owner of Maniac's Mansion, a downtown arcade and cereal bar. As a DJ with over 20 years of experience, he is a staple at local events and known for blending various music styles.
Marcus opened the doors to Maniac’s Mansion back in 2019 with just a roll of the dice. Maniac’s Mansion is Marcus’ childhood vision realized: a place where people can hang out, play arcade games, and eat cereal all day. Walking into Maniac’s Mansion for the first time is like walking into a museum where patrons can touch the exhibits. The arcade and cereal bar evokes both childlike wonder and a wave of nostalgia for guests.
Marcus’ vision was to create a space for people to slow down and spend some time enjoying life and the company of others, which is why he also has cartoons playing all day and offers a selection of board games for a little friendly competition.
