Maritime Heritage Chapter of the ASV Providing opportunities for diving and non-diving volunteers to participate in efforts protect and study underwater archaeological sites in Virginia.

The MARITIME HERITAGE CHAPTER of the Archeological Society of Virginia (ASV) seeks to preserve and investigate Virginia's diverse underwater archaeological sites through volunteer research, survey, site reporting, education, training, and outreach. Participants do not need to be scuba divers.

This story is an oft-repeated one. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer, but I've visited the Victory several times and each time I'm impressed with her appearance and the "vibe" she gives off. It's easy to let you mind travel back to 1805 and imagine Lord Nelson standing on the quarterdeck. I think historic ships are worth saving.
