Two women, Alyssa and Joanne, decided to come together to put their art out there. Joanne Lose is the artist and Alyssa Eastwood is the photographer. Joanne Lose, a Michigan native, finds her inspiration for her drawings and pastels from the bountiful beautiful nature found right in her own backyard. Subject matter includes drawing birds in their natural habitat and the flowers that bloom in her m
any gardens. A co-worker’s love for her aging dog led Joanne to begin drawing the family pet, initially as gifts for friends and later on commission. She finds great satisfaction in capturing the expression of love that is individual to each animal. Joanne also enjoys drawing cats and various animals found in nature, from wolves to deer. While Joanne’s favorite medium is graphite, pastels and color pencils, she also enjoys experimenting with watercolor and plans to include more watercolor in her works of art. Sharing co-ownership in ‘Into the Sun Gallery’ is an exciting venture for Joanne and a wonderful opportunity to share her art and love of nature with others. Alyssa Eastwood enjoys taking pictures of nature, and chasing color-filled sunsets, large fluffy clouds, and unique water reflections. She has had her pictures featured on the Weather Channel, MLive, and Michigan Parks and Recreation media pages. Alyssa discovered her love for photography while navigating through some challenging times in her life. Her love for photography began to grow further while attending Michigan State University. After graduation, she decided to pursue photography and began taking photos on campus. When MSU’s official Instagram page posted a photo she took during the spring of 2014, Alyssa decided maybe others might enjoy her work.
