I'm sorry to inform everyone who supported project space that I had to close at the end of June 2014. Due to the lack of interest in renting studio space and the landlord wishing to have his space back to pursue his ideas for the space. It was very difficult to disappoint all the artist and friends who came to all the openings. If I were to judge the success of project space it would be the artist that showed and the followers who attended all of the openings. I thank you all. My next venture is to look at a studio at the DCCA. Hope to see some of you there. The DCCA has a lot of interesting opportunities available such as a book club, 2nd Wednesdays, art salad on Thursday @ lunch, and trips to NYC this March and then in May a trip to Washington check them out @ their website. And last but not least 2015Grechen Huphel Symposium in May there are so many events I can't post them all

Thank again to all who suppported project space de.

Dechemia – about chemistry – is the name for our collaboration.
We create process-based objects and installations through the use of poured plaster. We set paper, plaster and ink into motion with water. Our process is fueled by the visible transmutation of these materials. The paper and plaster react to each other immediately, forming spontaneous compositions of lines or indents. The plaster flows into a vessel. The story of our collaboration is told in the search for these forms. We started with the square frame, using paper as the skin, creating individual images, gradually moving into larger scale grids and deliberate compositions, insetting our drawings and sculptures flush with the walls and onto the floor of the gallery. We use the whole room as a vessel; we seek to activate the space through the viewer’s visual perspective.
We’re playing with the balance between the metaphoric and the physical aspects of our practice. After so many experiments – having made maps of chemical reactions, the grain of our favorite papers, the way the plaster and paper interact – still we are astonished at the way nature reaches in to affect the results.

Dear project space family,
i'm sad to share that project space will be closing its doors june 30th due to the hardship of finding a studio mate. the landlord decided it was too much energy with the change overs. project space had a great three year run. I am proud of all the shows that we exhibited and the artist that were represented. the last season of openings Catch and Release, Alienated and Armed, Luscious Landscape, and A(rt)vocation had amazing numbers at the opening reception. I thank all of you whom have supported the gallery. Although it is sad:to say the least, it is what it is. Again all I can do is thank all of the people who have supported the space the last three years. THANK YOU!!!!

with each exhibition i learn something new about artist and the art making process. This past opening i found that there are several positions behind the scenes of the exhibition process. There are many hats to be worn, many jobs to be accomplished way before the work is to be put on the walls. And that doesn't even include the preparation that has to be done to the actual walls themselves. Many of these individuals that do this work are artist themselves. I saw the dedication and devotion that these artist display everyday in their a(rt)vocation lives. I am extremely impressed with the professionalism of these artist and their artwork.

Looking for something interesting to see tonight come view Ben McCullough sculpture "Steam". The opening includes the art work of artist Stephen Ruszkowski, Hiro Sakaguchi, Jonathan Schoff, and collaborative partners John Gibbons and Isobel Sollenberger. Employed by the Delaware Art Museum, Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, and Philadelphia Museum of Art, or employed as free-lance preparators, these multi-talented individuals work to both create and support the fine arts of the region.
