The Wimberley Valley Art League Gallery is located in the Wimberley Community Center, RR 12 at River Road, and is open from 8:30 to 4:30* during

the week.
*Hours may change during this pandemic. The WVAL Gallery serves as a continuing venue for visitors to view and purchase the works of league members and features a bimonthly juried show to showcase selections from emerging and established WVAL member artists. The objectives of the nonprofit organization are to promote an interest in and recognition of visual and functional art, encourage support and appreciation of art, promote learning for its members, and assist in the development of community-wide interest in art. The latter is manifested through bi-monthly juried shows in the new Gallery at the Wimberley Community Center, art workshops, Arts Fest in the spring, art in public places, a Studio Tour in September, and the Show and Sale each November. Wimberley is home to many well-known national and international artists. Art is an enrichment to your life and surroundings. Come join us as we build public interest in the arts.

Jennifer is a self-taught mixed-media artist based in Dripping Springs who creates intuitively using alcohol ink, watercolor, collage, needle felting, and digital art. Guided by instinct and experimentation, she begins each piece with an open mind, allowing the energy of color, texture, and motion to lead the creative process, letting each piece evolve naturally as it comes to life.

Doors of the Wimberley Community Center open to the public at 2:00 allowing for folks to arrive and have some socialization prior to the presentation. The event starts promptly at 2:30 and finishes no later than 4:00. Members and non-members are invited to attend.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks again to an amazing crew of WVAL volunteers for their help in matting framing and hanging over 68 artworks by our talented local students. From start to finish we accomplished all of that in an hour and half and had fun doing it!

A special thank you to the Gallery Committee and to Martha Gibson, Katherine Evans and Jenifer Morris for their behind the scenes planning, organizing the teachers and the volunteers, collecting the artwork from the area schools and hosting the reception. Without your leadership this special event for the students, their families and our community wouldn’t have happened. WELL DONE!

The Wimberley Valley Art League’s Student Art Show and Reception was a wonderful success! Seeing the students and their families light up with pride as they viewed their framed artwork displayed on our gallery walls was truly special.

A heartfelt thank you to the outstanding art teachers who inspire and guide these young artists: Tiffany Huff (Wimberley High School), Mary Grace Barbee (Jacob’s Well Elementary), Diana Carruthers (Blue Hole Primary), and Leslie Williams (St. Stephen’s Episcopal School). Our community is fortunate to have such talented and dedicated educators.

We invite you to visit the show at the Wimberley Community Center. It’s sure to bring joy to your heart and a smile to your face!
