During this Holiday Season, The Gray Gallery would like to thank all of our supporters and announce that this will be our last exhibition. We have been so honored to be a significant part of the arts community in Wi******er, VA but life endeavors has encouraged us to continue moving forward.

Land Lines, an exhibition of black and white works relating to our natural environment, will be our final exhibition. This exhibit will feature Andy DiPietro, Katherine Nelson and Alex Porter. Please join us 5-7pm for the First Friday reception.

Opened by Jaimianne Amicucci and Anthony Jacobin in September 2014, The Gray Gallery is one of the only contemporary white wall galleries in the area. Since opening, a number of community members have helped the gallery flourish. Special thanks goes to: Jenny Baker, Peter Bullough, Georgia Dennis, Peggy Duvall, C.J. Eller, Dana Evans, Norma & Ned Fredrickson, Corwyn Garman, Kim Johnson, Sally Myers, Beverly Pearce, Douglas Rhodes, Daniel Rioux, Joel Richardson, Kerry Stavely and Tamara Thomas.

As dedicated art supporters in Wi******er, we hope to continue supporting the arts by providing the space for another arts venue at a reasonable rate. If interested, please contact us at [email protected].

FOLKLORE AND FACT
OCTOBER 6 - NOVEMBER 4, 2017

A story or character can be found in each of the artist’s work, representing narratives altered in perspectives and time, immortalized in the artwork of these four artists. With similar DIY and folk aesthetics from the Valley, Kerry Stavely, Neil Stavely, Dolan Geiman and Joe Engel fill the gallery this October.
Local artists Neil and Kerry Stavely specialize in linocut and woodcut printmaking. The product of their vision can come in any combination of mixed media, block-printing, semi-sculptural assemblages and carved paintings. Subject matter is pulled from history, literature, as well as symbols.

Dolan Geiman specializes in storytelling through objects. His work is a product of the tale each of his found objects have to tell. There is a tie throughout to the American landscape and culture present in his collage and assemblages.

Joe Engel's work is inspired by his personal experiences working outdoors in state parks and wildlife sanctuaries. Dense primitive imagery, clean lines and bold color is used. The chaotic application of the materials remains refined enough to define clear representational imagery with a unique sense of depth and texture.
