Just a note about photographs from the Windber Area Museum's collection. You may notice more than occasional occurrence of materials with a watermark identifying a photograph from the museum's collection. The Museum has extremely graciously agreed to allow us to use their materials in telling the story on this page. We are extremely grateful, indeed. The content would not be half as rewarding as it is without them. We recognize this as a privilege, and not a right, and we would ask everyone to respect the integrity of the materials. They remain the property of the museum, with all rights reserved. No one should reproduce them without permission. We wanted to acknowledge the museum's generosity through this comment, but we also wanted to assure everyone that everything is being done with the proper permissions. We hope you enjoy the photos, but even more, we hope that you would be motivated by them to visit the museum, where there are literally thousands of images that tell the story of Windber in their own way. All the best - TWP
