Come check out our recently refreshed Fire Museum. Opened in 2010, the interior of the WSFR Fire Museum was due for a fresh coat of paint. As you can imagine, painting around an entire collection of artifacts is tricky business. Every item in the museum got moved and covered, and two of the three antique fire trucks were put in storage at Station 4. Yesterday and museum staff and fire crews worked to get the entire collection back in place and ready to reopen. Come by from 12-4 today (and every Saturday) and learn about more than 100 years of Windsor and Severance fire history.

Emily Rayl's 2nd grade class from Werner Elementary School in Fort Collins visited Boardwalk Park and toured the WSFR Fire Museum on Friday. At the Fire Museum they participated in a bucket brigade, hose cart pull, and the use of a life safety net. They also climbed on the Museum's 1951 Ford Howe fire engine. This was one of three class that came to visit Friday.

To schedule an educational event or tour of the WSFR Fire Museum, email Curator Dan Lowe at [email protected].

The Windsor Park and Recreation Department held a Transporation Day for home schooled children at Boardwalk Park. One of the activities was a scavenger hunt and patch drawing activity at the Windsor Severance Fire Museum. We had 46 children, and 27 adults attend. Thanks to Docent Karen Speed and family for helping out.

If you are interested in a private educational tour or activity at the museum, or are looking for a way to give back to our community by being a WSFR Fire Museum volunteer, contact our curator, Dan Lowe, at [email protected].

It's been a busy month for us here at the WSFR Fire Museum! We had 36 folks from Northern Plains Public Library in Ault visit the museum on October 3rd. Tower #1's crew helped out as the children performed a bucket brigade as well as got a chance to ride on our 1941 International Howe. Fireman Dan reviewed fire prevention material. These home schooled children and mothers had a great time.

Thank you to Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson for inviting us out today to the 9/11 Memorial event. Sharing space with the GWOT Wall of Rememberance was an honor and seeing everyone out to pay tribute was amazing. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

We are very excited to have our 1951 Ford Howe pumper back home in its original โ€œDenver Whiteโ€ color. The truck was sold by WSFR many years ago and then repainted red, which was the color we got it back in. A huge shoutout to SVI in Fort Collins for the amazing work restoring the truck. Stop by the museum between noon-4 every Saturday and check it out.

On July 15 the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority had its 140th Anniversary of the fire department foundation in 1883 with the formation of Bartholf Fire Company. John Read, Karen Speed, Noah Metzler, Hayley Johnson, and Dan Lowe from our Museum drove our 1951 Ford Howe which just returned from a being painted back to its original "Denver White," our 1925 REO Speedwagon, and the museum's 1941 International Howe down for the event. Come see the trucks at the Museum. We are open every Saturday from Noon-4 p.m. at Boardwalk Park in Windsor.
