A wonderful afternoon! At the annual Wachovia Historical Society event. Tom Gray was awarded the Archie K. Davis Award for a lifetime of achievement and service of restoring and protecting history. Martha Hartley did a fantastic job walking those in attendance through a broad stroke history of the Wachovia Tract. Refreshments and music were enjoyed as well as fellowship with friends old and new.

Join WHS as we travel to the 18th-century fortification built by then Governor Arthur Dobbs for protection on the early frontier of Piedmont North Carolina. Be a part of the “Living History Day” as we observe the dress and daily customs of the settlers and soldiers who took refuge in this historic fort.
