Combining advancements in technology with a love for natural landscapes, photographer H.H. Bennett captured the images that made Wisconsin Dells famous. Bennett captured the heart and soul of areas he photographed, revealing scenic landscapes, bustling urban centers, and people discovering a natural playground. His works have been displayed worldwide including The Museum of Modern Art in New York
City, The Smithsonian Institution, and the Center for Creative Photography. Bennett was not only an outstanding landscape photographer, but he was also an inventor, promoter and entrepreneur. Bennett pioneered the "instantaneous shutter" in 1886, photographing his son Ashley's leap to stand rock - now a Dells icon! Today the restored 1875 studio and museum house Bennett’s original homemade cameras, darkroom equipment, glass plate collection, studio props and equipment. Using the 3D photography method of the stereoview, Bennett took hundreds of stunning 3D photographs that amazed Americans across the country with the beauty of the Dells.
