Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius- The Wisdom You Seek is Already Within, Inspiration + Fortitude, Playing the Long Game

On May 30th/31st, we have the uber inspirational and hopeful Full Moon in Sagittarius at 9 degrees. Full Moon energy is always highly emotional and juicy in nature. They represent endings, completions and culmination. Sagittarius the 9th zodiac sign is known to be philosophical, wise, daring and a seeker of the truth.

This is the second full moon of the month otherwise known as a Blue Moon. This happens when we have 2 full moons within a 29 day period. Often Blue Moons happen every 2.5-3 years at a time and represent BIG endings and massive breakthroughs. This Blue Full Moon will deal with confronting truths in our lives that have held us back and a new energy of liberation and authenticity.

The Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius is here to offer big realizations and higher wisdom to come into our life. Sagittarius is the most ( next to Aries) honest and raw sign in the zodiac. There is a pull with the Archer to go after the truth and nothing but the truth. This Full Moon will not ask but demand that you get honest and real about what or who has been holding you back. The lower vibration of this Blue Full Moon will be foot in mouth syndrome, exaggerations and at times reckless optimism. The balance will be remaining open to higher forms of wisdom and the humbleness to admit when you are wrong + to be accountable.

The Blue Full Moon in Sagittarius will be making a positive and beneficial trine ( 120 degree aspect) to Saturn, the planet of discipline, hard work and sacrifice who is in the sign of Aries. The Full Moon in harmony with Saturn will ground our inspirational nature into practical and wise applications. Instead of flying forward into some feel good abyss, Saturn will require us to think about the long term implications of our actions and our words. While both the Moon and Saturn are in fire signs which signal passion and inspiration, these long term goals will still be marked by excitement + fiery willpower.

FULL MOON in SAGITTARIUS

When I was thinking about this coming Full Moon, which is less than 24 hours away, while writing the Weekly Preview last week, I was thinking about the theme of What’s Hemming You In?

And, with this Full Moon trine to Saturn in Aries, it’s still a valid theme and dot connector. The Full Moon bringing a Sagittarian Topic up front and centre for some spotlight treatment, and Saturn in Aries highlighting the boundaries & restrictions. From the Master Go Sign.

But as I’ve felt my way through this Full Moon energy – our second Full Moon for May, and following on from the Scorpio Full Moon at the beginning of the month – the theme has evolved from being hemmed in, to wings and clipping.

And so my question under our double-whammy Full Moon is: Does it feel like your Wings Are Clipped in a particular part of your world (the House this Full Moon falls in will highlight that) – and what Saturnian Theme is doing the clipping?

Sagittarius is one of our two Signs of Freedom, the other being Aquarius. For Sagittarius, it’s an energy that loves to Explore, loves its Big Skies & Endless Possibilities. Ruled by Jupiter, it’s the Sign that loves Adventure. Is typically Optimistic. And loves its Freedom.

In short, Sagittarius loves its Wings.

Under this Full Moon, with Saturn looking on intently from the other Sign that loves Adventure, a feeling of restriction, of boundaries, of responsibilities is also in play.

And in Sagittarius, despite it being a Fire Trine, that can feel extra heavy.

Last December, we held space for new opportunities under a Sagittarius New Moon that, with a square aspect to Neptune in Pisces (at the time) and exact inconjunct to Uranus in Ta**us (at the time), were not exactly straightforward. Neptune’s influence clouded focus, and Uranus’ influence suggested uncomfortable change might be necessary as we optimistically looked to launch our arrows sky high.

Fast Forward 5 months, and the results of those arrows are now under the spotlight. Some might say at culmination, others might say at the half-way point of the cycle. Either way, those hopes and aspirations – and arrows – from December are in the focus, and looking for attention.

Has everything gone to plan or as hoped – or are the things hoped for from back then feeling unclear, uncomfortable or unattainable? Or simply off the radar and not in the realm of possibility?

The good news is that this is a check-in point. And, let’s face it, life doesn’t always go to plan. Or hope.

But with the Ruler of this Full Moon, Jupiter, sitting ever so comfortably in Cancer – and thus providing a Mutual Reception in play, albeit a strange one – the hope & the trust energy is absolutely still there. Jupiter in the Moon’s Sign, and the Moon – the Full Moon – in Jupiter’s Sign.

It’s just that there’s a block – or a reality check – (hello Saturn) in play.

So, time to identify where your wings feel like they are being clipped – and find your detour. Your Plan B. Your Perspective Shift.

Sagittarius is a Mutable Sign and the beauty of Mutable Signs is their ability to Adapt.

And this Full Moon – the second one for May – is still one shining the way with hopes & possibilities. It just might need a healthy dose of flexibility, a different angle – and maybe a little less glue (i.e. stuck to the seeds sown back in December).
