Featuring:

Samantha Grimes

A mesmerizing voice and a remarkable songwriting ability and was born and raised in Minnesota. From a young age, Samantha displayed an undeniable passion for music and quickly established herself as a prodigious talent. Her natural inclination towards melodies and storytelling set her apart from her peers early on. That - and the happy accident that became her signature style: Left-handed and upside down guitar playing. Over the years, she has continued to captivate audiences with her exceptional vocal range and poignant songwriting. With each subsequent release, she has ventured into uncharted territory, fearlessly exploring new sounds and pushing the boundaries of her artistry. Her dedication to her craft and authenticity have endeared her to a loyal fanbase around the world. Folk, rock, blues, country and more combine to create the iconic sound of Americana grown in the Midwest. With hits like "Wendy Darling," "Wicked Mortals" and "Trainwreck," Samantha has shown her ability to captivate listeners in all genres.

Roy Holdren

Roy Holdren was born and raised in a musical family in Kansas, where his grandpa played the fiddle and his mother played guitar. Music was a constant in his life, and he learned to beat the drums with butter knives on mayonnaise jars. It was no surprise that he formed his first band with his brother in seventh grade, and he has been playing music ever since, whether it be on drums, bass, or guitar. After high school in South Dakota, Roy became a radio announcer, which he credits with teaching him how to enunciate and project, skills that have served him well as a singer. He left radio to play in road bands throughout the Midwest and Canada before settling in Minneapolis, where he has spent the past forty years playing full-time music. Roy is a soulful country singer with a voice that has been compared to Ronnie Dunn and Percy Sledge. Although he started writing songs at age thirteen, Roy didn't get serious about songwriting until the early nineties, when he began making regular trips to Nashville to write and pitch his songs. He became Minneapolis-St. Paul coordinator for the Nashville Songwriters Association International and led that chapter for 26 years. He has won several songwriting awards, including being a finalist in the John Lennon songwriting contest, and has had over twenty independent artists record songs he has written. Roy has written and recorded five albums and is excited about his latest project, "Once Upon a Time in a Barroom."

Zariah Rippel

I'm a singer-songwriter from Forest Lake Minnesota who draws from several genres including folk, blues, and pop. Drawing influences from Americana and alternative subcultures, I write story driven songs about love, heartbreak, and the complexities of living in an ever changing world. My goal is to spread hope through music and encourage others to share their stories and experiences.

See you tonight!,

The Hallberg Center for the Arts Sign Needs Your Help.
DONATE - Help Bring Our Sign back to Light

10 years ago, The Hallberg Family Foundation donated this beautiful sign to help our art center get noticed and reach a larger audience, enriching the lives of visitors with beautiful art exhibits, art classes, and live music performances.

This past winter, brutal cold weather overwhelmed this aging sign and the lights went out.

We need to replace the digital display, which now will have a vastly improved resolution.

Our non-profit organization is funded through donations and grants.
