We counted 14 fluffy Canada goose goslings this morning being watched by three very attentive adults. If you visit in the coming days, please remember to give them plenty of space and observe from a distance. Canada Geese are widely recognized as excellent and fiercely devoted parents. You might get nipped or charged if you or your dog strays to close.

A slightly adjusted call for volunteers for planting from our previous employee Sophia at State Fair Park for this Thursday:

The implementation of a new display garden at State Fair Park, called The Farmer's Garden has a volunteer opportunity this Thursday (sorry for the late notice, wasn't sure if they were going to be done with irrigation in time!) to come help with planting the garden. I would love to see some familiar faces there!

Here's the details:
Thursday, May 21st at 8:30 AM - Enter through s. gate 5, head east towards barns
1301 S. Fair Avenue, Yakima

Please register here so we know you're coming: https://forms.gle/tC15ivuRmDTd8Am79

We’ll have plants ready to go, so there’s no expectation to bring your own. But if you have a fun, unique, or especially beloved variety of fruits or vegetables that you think the whole Valley should know about, feel free to bring a donation to share in the garden. And if we run out of room to plant everything, we can always turn it into a fun little plant swap!

Reminder, this is at State Fair Park, not the Arboretum! We're just happy to help our friends across the highway!

Join us for a morning of planting, fresh air, and a sneak peek at the newest addition to the Fair, The Farmer’s Garden! Please bring a reusable water bottle, your own gloves, and a hand trowel. Ring ring… it’s the coral bells calling. 🔔

Heucheras are one of the hardest-working perennials in the garden, offering season-long color with striking foliage that thrives in shade to part sun. These coral bells add texture, contrast, and reliable perennial interest to beds, borders, and containers alike.

We have four varieties available at the Plant Sale!
