Today we had the honor of recognizing two outstanding Yale High School student-athletes with the 2025–2026 Jim Thorpe Award presented by the Jim Thorpe Memorial Foundation.

🏈 Congratulations to Tanner Moore for his outstanding achievement, leadership, sportsmanship, and excellence in Yale High School Football.

🏃‍♀️ Congratulations to Kaybra Prather for her distinguished excellence, perseverance, and competitive spirit in Yale High School Track & Field.

These young athletes represent the same dedication, character, and competitive greatness that Jim Thorpe embodied throughout his legendary career. We are proud to celebrate their accomplishments and the positive example they set for future generations.

The Jim Thorpe Memorial Foundation (JTMF) is thrilled to announce the recipient of its FIRST EVER Jim Thorpe Award: the incredibly accomplished Caymon Prather of Yale (Oklahoma) High School!

Caymon is being recognized for his outstanding dedication and excellence in both academics and athletics, truly embodying the spirit of Jim Thorpe. This award celebrates not just his achievements, but his commitment to being a well-rounded leader.

I received a letter and pictures from the Thorpe home’s December guest Bren today. His grandfather Bennett “Pope” Gregory played football for the University of Nebraska and Buffalo Bills. Sports has a way of connecting people from all walks of life, for Bren and I it was memories our grandfathers lives that made us feel connected.
