In honor of his legacy, The House, owned and lived in by Gorey himself, displays his diverse and extraordinary talents and reflects his distinct personality. local and national animal welfare issues. As a dedicated commemoration to Gorey, the House strives to educate and inspire its visitors, offering a unique introduction to Edward Gorey, the artist and person.

A handful of tickets left for tomorrow's Pete Fete Benefit for the Animal Rescue League of Boston (Brewster Branch) here at the House. We have grudgingly mown the lawn and Ms Scrimshaw's beard for the whole affair. Ticket info at: https://edwardgoreyhouse.org/events

Brace yourself: Gorey Happenings are barreling down the pipeline directly towards your face.

Join us on Wednesday the 27th (online or in-person) for a cosy discussion of Rilke, whose poetry, Edward once commented, struck "all too many chords in my tiny head, and I get overcome."

Next Friday, the House and the Animal Rescue League of Boston (Brewster branch) gather on the Grounds for a Summer Pet Fête. Enjoy an evening of drinks and socializing with two- and four-legged beasts.

All these and more – including the return of our Movie Night series – can be found at edwardgoreyhouse.org/events

Thank you to the ink-splattered attendants of last week's Gorey Letters – our inaugural handlettering workshop – as well as to Thacher Hall for hosting (and providing the slick cinematography). We'll see you next time.

In Memory of our dear friend, Rick Jones, who many of you know as the steerer of this Wobbly House for many years until his retirement in 2020. Rick slipped off to the shadowy part of the lawn last month. He left us a perfectly good museum to continue running and we are indebted. A link to Rick's obituary is below:

Crew Update: The newest member of the Gorey Team, Zillah Jane, arrives at the House with almost ten weeks of merchandising expertise (shown below assessing works from our printmaker Elizabeth Andrews). Embley continues her work distributing litter evenly across the second floor of the House in addition to her grant-writing tasks.

As many of you know Yewbert severed his ties with the House due to his various Epstein associations. We would prefer not to discuss that any further.
