Writer and Activist Richard Becker (also my brother) will discuss his book "Palestine, Israel and the U.S. Empire" at Epic Book Shop, 232 Xenia Ave, on Tuesday, May 28th from 6-7:30pm

What is the connection between Israel and US Imperialism? Becker traces the movement of resistance from British colonialism to the struggles in Gaza and the West Bank today. He discusses the division of the Middle East by Western powers, the Zionist settler movement, the founding of Israel, the present day conflict and the prospect for a just resolution.

Citizens Not Politicians will have a stop-n-sign event in Yellow Springs Saturday May 9th from 10-1:00 across from 326 Phillips St. This is to establish a 15 person citizen's panel to draw fair electoral districts in Ohio. We need a boatload of signatures to get it on the ballot in November. DM me if you want to volunteer to collect signatures. Some training is required so we all do it right!

Tuesday, August 8th, there is a presentation of Ira's poetry along with a show of some of his paintings. Woodbourne Library in Centerville, Ohio. Poetry from 6:30-7:30 followed by live jazz with the Moses Mabarak Trio.
