Okay friends, here we go! The lilacs are budding out, we can smell the salty sea air again, and after a long, long winter we can’t wait to welcome you back!
Hours resume May 30 with fresh new works by an expanded roster of more than thirty regional artists. This season we will be open Thursday - Sunday, 10am-5pm, also by appointment and by chance.
☀️We’ll officially welcome the summer with our first reception on June 13, 5-7pm. Alongside works by our gallery artists, this will also mark the opening of four distinct solo collections by Alicia Ethridge, Sarah Faragher, Trevor Toney, and Sarah Steedman. These new bodies of work explore internal and external landscapes, perception and illusion, caretaking, and personal symbolism.
Alicia Ethridge, Luminous Wilds
Sarah Faragher, Return
Trevor Toney, Fool Me Once
Sarah Steedman, Tending
June 13 - July 19

🦝 In July and August we’ll be overrun with animals for the tenth iteration of Nancy Davidson’s beloved “Critters” exhibition. This year’s cast of creatures is largely inspired by the York River’s tidal habitats and neighboring landscapes, and will take over both the building and grounds.

🍁 In September, that most glorious month in Maine, we welcome ten photographers whose work seeks out the timeless in contemporary New England. Their black and white photographs reference works by pioneering American photographer, Paul Strand, and are presented as a single collection.
