Creative York (formerly YorkArts) is a 501c3 non-profit arts organization located in York, PA featuring two art galleries, ceramics studios, art classes for ages 3-103, and award-winning community outreach programs. Creative York was founded by area artists and community members in 1990 to support local artists in all disciplines and to make the arts accessible to all members of our community. For

the past thirty years, Creative York has fostered creativity and community through the arts. Creative York inspires the community through arts education, gallery experiences and outreach programs.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Creative York gallery and offices will be closed Saturday - Monday, September 5 - 7 in honor of Labor Day. We’re grateful for the many hands, talents, and ideas that help shape our creative community.

It’s First Friday! Come spend part of your evening with us at Creative York.

Explore Creative York’s Adult Juried Exhibit and Philip Redman: Expression of Science Fiction and Fantasy, and make a little art of your own. We’ll have a free printmaking activity where you can experiment with leaves and natural textures to create your own nature-inspired prints.

Kids Art Crew gives young artists a place to get creative, try new things, and make art alongside other kids. Each month brings a new theme and plenty of opportunities to explore.

CALL FOR ART: BLUE

What does blue mean to you?

Creative York is seeking artwork for Blue: Interpretations in Color & Meaning, an upcoming exhibition at the Andrew Duarte Memorial Gallery in the West York Borough Office.

Blue can be a color, a feeling, a symbol, a memory, a connection, or something entirely your own. This call is open to a wide range of interpretations, mediums, and ideas. Show us where BLUE takes you.

CALL FOR ART: Eight by Eight

Creative York’s annual Small Works Exhibition is back, and we’re looking for original artwork measuring no more than 8" x 8" in any direction, including the frame.

Work in any medium is welcome, including 2D and 3D pieces. Artists may submit up to two works, and all artwork must be priced under $250.

Want to start with a blank canvas? 8" x 8" canvases are available for $5 and can now be picked up:
• In the Creative York gallery during open hours
• At Get Crafted this Saturday, August 29

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 23
Opening Reception: Saturday, November 28, 10am–12pm

Sunflowers, paint, and a Friday night sounds like a pretty good combination!

Join us for Paint Like: Van Gogh Sunflowers on Friday, September 4 from 6–8pm. We’ll take inspiration from Van Gogh’s iconic sunflowers and put our own spin on them with plenty of guidance along the way.

No painting experience needed. Come hang out, pick up a paintbrush, and see what you create!
