Mission: to tell the story of our maritime history and the Chesapeake Bay. In doing so, we strive:
• To preserve the heritage of the watermen of the Chesapeake Bay.
• To interpret their culture and their contribution to the region.
• To provide and support educational opportunities.
• To preserve and enhance the environment of the Chesapeake Bay. The Watermen's Museum showcases Native Virginia Ind

ian tools, maritime trade in Colonial America, the transformation of working our waters of the Chesapeake Bay thru to the present, model vessels, harvest tools and techniques used by Chesapeake Bay fisheries. The museum also features a multi-media presentation room and gift shop. The Carriage House features a 900 sq foot deck overlooking the York River. This beautiful venue is available for rent for special events such as weddings, receptions, birthday parties, etc. The Boat House is 450 sq foot structure used for boatbuilding, restoration and exhibition. The Historic Windmill is an 18th century replica designed to interpret colonial engineering, milling, and commerce. Educational Programs:
