Officials from California’s Irvine Museum will be on hand to share this beautiful exhibition with the public. In attendance will be special guests Mr. James Irvine Swinden (Irvine Museum President) and Mr. Jean Stern (Museum Director). An illustrated art talk will occur at 2 pm in the Beecher Center Auditorium.

Film on Art: Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904)
This biographical film surveys the life and career of one of the most prominent pioneers of photography. The program is presented in cooperation with the Intermuseum Conservation Association (ICA) and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), which has funded the restoration of several Muybridge works from the Butler’s collection. These Butler works will be on view in September. This program is free; seating is on a first come, first served basis. Parental discretion is advised.

Visit the Butler in Youngstown Sunday, September 13 for a full day of free events! At 2 pm, Director Lou Zona will present a gallery talk in the Beecher Center Auditorium about Impressionism and Post Impressionism. Artists Gisela Colón and Rhoda Sherbell will be present for the opening of their exhibitions of technology and sculpture. A new exhibition in Mesaros Gallery displays a photographic archive of Vaudeville performers Block and Sully. Refreshments will be served from 1-3 pm. Join us!
